Phyllis C. Boeglin, 78, Santa Claus

Phyllis BoeglinPhyllis C. Boeglin, 78, of Santa Claus, died Saturday (July 1) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born in Evansville July 10, 1938, to Samuel R. and Lillian (Angermeier) Cutteridge. She married Leo H. Boeglin August 23, 1958, at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt.

Phyllis retired from the Abbey Press in St. Meinrad. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Jasper German Club, and Psi Iota Psi. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge, crossword puzzles, reading, crafting, sewing, shopping, and collecting.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leo H. Boeglin; one daughter, Patricia Boeglin, Evansville; two sons, Edward Boeglin and wife Shelly, Huntingburg, and David Boeglin and wife Mary Sue, Jasper; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jo Barrett, Evansville; one brother, Samuel Cutteridge and wife Susie, Eddyville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and one aunt, Marge Hassler, Evansville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Schmitt, one brother-in-law, David Barrett, and one grandson, Ted Boeglin.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Henry Church, Dubois County 4-H, or to the Jasper Kiwanis Club. Online condolences may be made at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
