Bonnie Jean Schwartz, 93, of Buxton, Maine, died Tuesday (June 27) at her home. She was born in Champaign County, Illinois, December 20, 1923, to William Arnold Harley and Bessie (Streamer) Endicott. She married Stanley Edgar Schwartz January 7, 1952. He died in 1987.

Bonnie was a 1941 graduate of Mt. Carmel (Illinois) High School. She worked for Faultless Castor and the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Evansville and for John N. Martin, P.A. in Huntingburg, where she also gave dance lessons. She retired from the Martin Group in 2004 at the age of 76. She was a member of Salem UCC in Huntingburg, was a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary No. 2366, and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Huntingburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Bradbury and husband Chet, Buxton, Maine; one granddaughter, Sarah Ward and husband Andrew, Buxton; and two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Hannah Ward, Buxton.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri, in 2002.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. VFW Auxiliary will conduct a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Friday. A Celebration of Life will e held at 2 p.m. Saturday followed by burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Mark West will officiate.
