Wanda L. Lane, 86, Jasper

Wanda LaneWanda L. Lane, 86, of Jasper, died Wednesday (June 14) at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Indianapolis March 24, 1931, to Clifton, Sr. and Virginia (Richey) Cook. She married Elias “Melvin” Lane December 6, 1947.

Wanda was (in her words) a domestic engineer. She was a member of the Jasper Church of the Nazarene. She sang in the church choir for many years. She loved puzzle books and spending time with family.

She is survived by one son, Jerald L. Lane and wife Patricia, Kingman, Arizona; her caregiver, Stephani Lane and husband Gregory; three brothers, Melvin Cook and wife Marie and Norman Cook, all of Indianapolis, and Jack Cook, Birdseye; three grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Memorial donations may be made to the Dubois County Special Olympics. Online condolences may be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Birdseye Cemetery.
