(UPDATED with VIDEO) Rewards Being Offered In Two Police Investigations

Jasper (NNDC) – The local group Community Strike Force Against Crime is now offering a $1000 dollar reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or people responsible for vandalism done at the Jasper Youth Sports Complex this past weekend.

Jasper Police Department detective Sgt. Jeremy Lee says the incident likely occurred between the hours of 9pm and 10:30pm Saturday.

Lee says anyone with information regarding the vandalism is asked to call the Jasper Police Department at 812-482-2255 or the anonymous tip line at 812-481-COPS(2677).

Meanwhile, the Community Strike Force Against Crime is also offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for several break-ins and thefts that occurred between 1:00am and 5:00am Monday to several vehicles and garages at homes on Jasper’s far west side.

Jasper police say the break-ins occurred at 1406 W. Fourth Street, 1435 W. Fourth Street, 364 Redbud Lane, 310 Redbud Lane, 393 Redbud Lane, 1712 Scarlet Oak Drive, 43 Daffodil Court and 203 Daisy Lane. SEE MAP BELOW

JPD this morning released surveillance video from a home in the area.  The alleged suspect first appears in the video at 1:55:13 on the tape.   Lee says the actual time the suspect appears is 2:55am Monday.  The suspect appears to be going up to vehicles in the neighborhood and checking to see if they are unlocked.  It appears he walks away if they are.

JPD says all told about $2,500 worth of items and cash were taken from the break-ins.
