Two Men Arrested After Fighting At Jasper Apartment

Jasper (NNDC) – Two men were arrested early Sunday morning after a fight broke out between the two.

At about 2:30am, Jasper police were called to the apartment of Brent Gowers in the 700 block of East 15th Street.

JPD says when officers arrived, they were met by a female outside the apartment who confirmed the two men involved in the fight, including Gowers, were now inside the apartment.

JPD says the officers determined that the 25-year old Gowers and 26-year old Matthew Elliott of Boonville had been drinking before the fight broke out.

JPD says while talking with Elliott, he became argumentative and belligerent with the officers.

JPD says when the officer attempted to place Elliott in handcuffs, he pulled away, so he was taken to the ground and placed under arrest.

JPD says he continued to be loud and obnoxious while refusing to follow the officers’ requests at the scene and eventually the jail staff as well after being taken to the Dubois County Security Center.

JPD says at the same time, Gowers was also disorderly, loud and argumentative. He too, was taken into custody.

JPD says Elliott tested .21% (Blood Alcohol Content) and Gowers tested . 09% (BAC).

Both men have been charged with Disorderly Conduct while Elliott also faces an additional charge of Resisting Law Enforcement.

‘Suspicious Man’ Arrested On Possession Charges

Jasper (NNDC) – A Huntingburg man was arrested Saturday evening after Jasper police responded to a call of a suspicous male subject hanging around the Village Court Apartment Complex parking lot on the¬†Jasper’s far northside.

JPD says when offficers arrived they made contact with Brian Boyer who was showing signs of¬†intoxication or possibly having a medical condition causing ‘severe twitching.’

JPD says while officers were going through Mr. Boyer’s belongings, they found a hypodermic syringe and a pen tube with trace amounts of methamphetamines inside

JPD says Boyer was taken into custody.

He was then transported to Memorial Hopsital for medical clearence before being taken to the Dubois County Security Center.

JPD says Boyer is charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe (Level 6 Felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).
