Karen R. Brown 65, Huntingburg

Karen BrownKaren R. Brown, 65, of Huntingburg, died Wednesday (June 7) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born in Ireland February 8, 1952, to John and Martha (Lannan) Seger. She married Roger D. Brown September 25, 1971, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville.

Karen was a 1970 graduate of Birdseye High School. She worked in her home as a babysitter. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its Ladies Sodality and served as a eucharistic minister. She bowled in the Thursday Night Women’s League and the Sunday Night Couples League and enjoyed playing cards, quilting, and taking annual trips with her friends.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Brown; one daughter, Jennifer Sandoval and husband Guadalupe, Huntingburg; one son, Jeff Brown, Jasper; two sisters, Earlene Stevens, Stillwater, Oklahoma and Brenda Colber, Birdseye; four brothers, Jeff Seger and wife Nelda, Winamac, Gary Seger and wife Michelle and Mike Seger and wife Diana, all of Jasper, and Pat Seger and wife Vicky, Bretzville; sister-in-law Marsha Seger, Bretzville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Ricky Seger.
