Gutierrez Found Unresponsive In Jail Cell; Dies At Hospital (w/VIDEO)

Jasper (NNDC) – The man police arrested last night after a six-hour standoff at a near southside home has died.

Authorities say 33-year-old Armando Gutierrez of Evansville was found not breathing and unresponsive during a morning bed check at the Dubois County Security Center just before 6:00am.

Guitierrez was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.   A DCSD deputy reportedly administered CPR before emergency first responders arrived at the jail.

DCSD says this is still an open investigation. The sheriff’s department the Dubois County coroner’s office are awaiting an autopsy and toxicology results.

Gutierrez was arrested late Thursday night after the standoff with police at a rental home in the 400 block of South Clay Street.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
