Local DI Teams Compete At Global Finals

Jasper (Local Sources) – Six local teams took part in the Destination Imagination Global Finals held late last week in Knoxville, Tennessee.

More than 8,000 students from more than 15 countries competed.

The Engineer Animals of Holy Trinity Catholic School tied for 12th place out 78 teams in the elementary level engineering challenge.  Team members are Ethan Engelberth, Ty Hamlin, Sean Nord, Aiden Seifert, and Carter Smith. The team was the fifth-highest ranking team from the United States.

Jasper Middle School’s Muggle Worthy team placed 30th out of 74 teams in the middle school level engineering challenge. Team members are Alexis Christiansen, Casey Haggh, Harrison Hulsman, Isabelle Lorey, Casandra Merrimon, Logan Meservy and Sydney Schmitt.

The Rainbow Rockers of Holy Trinity placed 19th of 43 teams in the elementary level fine arts challenge. Team members are Wylee Kippenbrock, Isaac Lorey, Monica Lorey, Xavier Rasche and Levi Welp.

The Colorful Life team of Forest Park tied for 31st place out of 74 teams in the secondary level fine arts Challenge. Team members are Hannah Borden, Courtney Borman, Maggie Brown, Audrey Jones, Makayla McKim and Katie Winkler.

The independent Hat Trix team of Jasper Middle School placed 20th out of 80 teams in the middle level’s improvisational challenge. Team members include Avery Bartley, Quinn Gunderson, Ava Harmon, Reid Harmon Avery Knies, Megan Rydberg and Delany Smith.

And, the Cedar Crest Intermediate’s Show and Tech team tied for 18th place out of 80 teams in the elementary level’s technical challenge. Team members were Ashlyn Dilger, Carter Fleck, Gus Hagedorn, Carson May, Madison Sherman, Ali Wahl and Miles Welp.
