Celestine Elementary Celebrates “Four-Star” Award

Celestine (Local Sources) – Students at Celestine Elementary Monday celebrated the school’s recent achievement of being named a Four-Star School by the Indiana Department of Education.

The students formed a large star in the school’s parking lot yesterday morning with the number 4 placed in the middle.

Celestine Elementary, Ferdinand Elementary, and Holy Trinity Catholic School in Dubois County all received the award for the 2015-16 school year, which measures various factors to determine which schools qualify.

To receive the designation, a school must receive an “A” on the state’s A-F accountability system, have excellent ISTEP pass rates, carry an overall high graduation rate (if applicable) and show success in closing the achievement gaps.
