Jasper Girls Win Track Sectional; Wildcats Win Big 8 Baseball Title (SCOREBOARD)

IHSAA SECTIONAL

At Leopold, the Jasper Wildcats (pictured) win their 20th sectional title, and sixth in a row, outdistancing nine other teams (Forest Park, Heritage Hills, Loogootee, Northeast Dubois, Perry Central, Shoals, South Spencer, Southridge, and Tell City).

Jasper took overall team honors scoring with 147.50  points.  Heritage Hills was a distant second with 114.

BASEBALL

Jasper 10  Boonville 2

At Boonville, University of Evansville-bound Evan Aders hits two home runs as the Wildcats capture the outright Big 8 Conference title, improving to 20-4 overall.

Eric Nordhoff gets the win on the hill for Jasper.

 

SOFTBALL

Southridge 11  Barr-Reeve 0

At Huntingburg, the Lady Raiders scored all their runs in the game’s first three innings to coast to the non-conference win.  Bre Wilkey goes the distance to get the win in the circle for Southridge.  CLICK TO WATCH THE REPLAY OF THE GAME THAT AIRED LIVE ON NNDC-TV.

Jasper 8   Princeton 4

At Princeton, Jasper grabbed the early 3-0 lead and then held the Tigers scoreless over the final 3 innings to secure the 8-4 Big-8 Conference win.

Jasper Senior starter Olivia Knies pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs, zero hits and struck out 5 but Freshman Grace Colvin earned the win in relief for Jasper. Colvin pitched the final three and a third innings, surrendering one run on two hits and one strike out.

Knies had a solo home run for Jasper in the 3rd Inning. Maria Gobert and Rachel Gress each had two RBI’s for the Wildcats.
