More Charges Filed In Latest Local Child Molesting Case

Huntingburg (NNDC) – Nine additional charges have been filed against a Huntingburg man who turned himself in last week confessing to molesting a then nine-year-old girl.

The additional charges 63-year old Claude Taylor now faces include two counts of Child Molesting (Class A felony), two counts of Incest (Class B felony) and six counts of Child Molesting (Class C felony).

Last Thursday, Taylor arrived at the Huntingburg Police Department where HPD detective Sgt. Christian Gogel says he confessed to several inappropriate incidents that Taylor says took place between him and the young female in Huntingburg.

Taylor was taken into custody.

Because the alleged incidents occurred six years ago, the charged are being filed under Indiana’s former criminal code and sentencing guidelines.   The code was revised in 2014.

The Class A felony charge alone carries a possible prison sentence of between 20 and 50 years if Taylor is found guilty. HPD
