“All Clear” Says County Highway Department

Jasper (NNDC) – This morning, Steve Berg, head of the Dubois County Highway Department says there are no longer any county roadways closed because of the heavy flooding locally three weeks ago.

49 of the 63 roads and highways the county maintains were closed as a result of record rainfall the weekend of April 29-May 1 when nearly 9 inches of rain fell locally.

Most of the roadways affected by the flooded are in low-lying areas of Dubois County and are known to flood with heavier than normal rainfall.
