Open House Public Meeting On Courthouse Square Project Set

Jasper (NNDC) – The general public is invited to attend an ‘Open House’ meeting to learn more about the Dubois County Courthouse Square street improvement and revitalization project.

City of Jasper officials and Representatives from Rundell Ernstberger Associates, the design firm hired by the city for the project, will be available to share proposed design ideas and answer questions. The Open House will take place on Tuesday, May 24 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Pfaffenweiler Room of Jasper City Hall.

The City of Jasper retained Rundell Ernstberger Associates to prepare a design for the Courthouse Square.

According to the city’s website, this transformative project will replace and upgrade aging utility infrastructure beneath the square and restore the surface in a way that builds upon the 2013 Vision Plan for Downtown. The redevelopment of this space will promote a vibrant, mixed-use, regional destination that enhances local businesses, encourages downtown living and walkability while catalyzing private investment.

City officials say the design of this project will enhance local businesses and generate new economic investment while restoring vitality and civic life to the square. This will be accomplished through pedestrian-friendly design, infrastructure modernization, amenities, public art, innovative green infrastructure, and community engagement throughout the entire project.
