Huntingburg (Local Sources) – The City of Huntingburg is adding dumpsters at the local street department beginning Thursday.

The dumpsters are being made available to collect only debris from last weekend’s flooding.

City officials say the dumpster will be available on Thursday and Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Huntingburg Street Department garage is located at 1103 E 1st St., near Huntingburg City Park.

The following items will not be accepted: items containing Freon such as refrigerators, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and freezers. Televisions, food, and tires will also not be accepted.

Residents will be asked to fill out a Dubois County Disaster Initial Intake/Assessment form when dropping off items if they have note already done so.

The dumpsters are made available to Huntingburg residents by Catholic Charities and Velpen Disposal.
