Extra Neighborhood Patrol Results In Arrest On Drug Charges

Garcia Dixon

Jasper (NNDC) – A Jasper man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police found him in possession of a synthetic drug and paraphernalia.

The Jasper Police Departmen says 21-year old Martin Salvador Garcia-Dixon was arrested at his home shortly after 1AM.

JPD says officers performing an extra patrol in the area of Cobblestone Road because of resident complaints of speeding vehicles and excessive noise observed a van driven by Garcia-Dixon failing to stop at a stop sign while southbound on Cobblestone.

A short time later, the van stopped at home in the 1700 block of Cobblestone where Garcia-Dixon lives.

After making contact with Garcia-Dixon, JPD officers found him to be driving as a habitual traffic violator (suspended for five years).  He was taken into custody.

JPD says a subsequent search of the van by officers found synthetic cannabinoids (K2/Spice) and paraphernalia for which he has been charged for being in possession of both.

He was also cited by police for failing to stop at a stop sign.
