Three Injured In Single-Vehicle Accident East Of Ferdinand

Ferdinand (NNDC) – A Friday night single-vehicle accident injured three; two was taken to the hospital.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says shortly before 10pm, a car driven by 18-year old Gabriel Fehribach was traveling west on Indiana 264 just east of South 450 East (near the entrance to Ferdinand State Forest) when the accident happened.

Fehribach told DCSD deputies when he lost control of the car as it hydroplaned on the rain-slick roadway.

DCSD says the car traveled off the northside of the roadway, spun multiple times, and rolled onto its passenger side before coming to rest in the middle of the roadway on it wheels.

Fehribach and two passengers in the car with him, a 16 and 17 year old male, were all able to get out of the car on their own.

Fehribach complained of upper arm pain to DCSD but refused medical treatment.  The 16-year old male sustained a laceration to his head and was transported to Memorial Hospital by ambulance.  The 17-year old male complained of back pain but refused medical treatment on scene.  DCSD says he was later transported to the hospital by personal vehicle.

DCSD says Fehribach was cited for speed too fast for weather conditions.
