Jasper Man Arrested For Using False Identity To Get A Job



Jasper (NNDC) – The Jasper Police Department says a man police say used a Texas man’s identity to get a job locally has been arrested.

JPD says 36-year old Juan Maniel Soni Mendoza was arrested Wednesday afternoon after receiving a tip that Mendoza had used the Texas man’s name, birthday and social security number to gain employment.

JPD says when Mendoza was taken into custody at work officers say he had in his possession several forms of identification determined to be false and two bank credit cards issued to the fraudulent name.

Mendoza faces preliminary Level 6 felony charges of identity deception, synthetic identity deception and fraud.
