Two Arrested On Drug Charges In Separate Incidents

Jasper Man Arrested In Downtown Drug Investigation



Jasper (NNDC) – A Jasper man has been arrested on drug charges after police were called in as part of a drug investigation at a downtown apartment.

Jasper police say officers searching the bathroom of the upstairs apartment at the Metzger Building, 216 West 6th Street, found a cigarette package with what an unknown substance in it, as well as a syringe.

The Jasper Police Department’s K9, Ares, was brought to the scene according to JPD, he gave a “positive indication’ that the unknown substance was narcotics.

A field test confirmed the substance was heroine.

JPD says the items belonged to 34-year old Kurt Gabhart, who lives in Jasper, but not at the downtown apartment.

He’s charged with Possession of Heroine and Illegal Possession of a Syringe.

Booking information on Gabhart’s arrest Friday morning shows he’s also been charged with Battery by Bodily Fluid/Waste.  No other information was give by Jasper Police.

Local Woman Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Jasper (NNDC) – A 24-year old Jasper woman was arrested early Saturday morning after she was stopped by police for speeding along Third Avenue.

Jasper police say at about 2:50am, Olivia Stout was stopped by police after being clocked driving 63 mile-an-hour in a 45 mile-an-hour zone.

Police say Stout’s license was suspended as well.

During the traffic stop, police officer say they detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from Stout’s vehicle.

JPD’s K9, Ares, was brought to the scene and according to police, made a positive indication of illegal substances in the vehicle.

Police say a small amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle and Stout was arrested on scene.
