Larry Hochmeister, 71, of Jasper, died Tuesday (April 11) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg February 28, 1946, to Lewis and Edna (Jones) Hochmeister. He married Kris Elliott June 23, 1973, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.
Larry was a 1964 graduate of Huntingburg High School and a 1977 graduate of Purdue University. He was a United States Army veteran and was served and wounded during Vietnam. He worked in purchasing at Masterbrand Cabinets for 19 years and as a wood products sales representative for Mears Quality Products for over 15 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and VFW Post No. 673. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bicycling, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kris Hochmeister; two daughters, Lisa Valle and husband Laurent, Fishers, and Jayme Roos, Jasper; one son, Nick Hochmeister and wife, Jenna, Evansville; seven grandchildren; one sister, Retta Ferguson and husband Irvin, Greensburg; and one brother, Gordon Hochmeister and wife Jean, Washington.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Blackgrove, and two brothers, Fred and Noble Hochmeister.
