JPD Looking For SUV That Struck House Sunday Evening And Fled

Jasper (NNDC) – Jasper Police say they are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene after the reported SUV struck a house along Newton Street early Sunday Evening.

Police say the vehicle struck a house in the 1300 block of Newton Street at about 7:15pm and then left the scene heading west on 13th Street.

Witnesses say the vehicle is a red, older model Jeep Grand Cherokee.  JPD says the vehicle is described to have a rusted rear bumper and a “loud exhaust.”   There were two people in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Jasper police say the vehicle will have what officers describe as “substantial damage to its passenger side.”

Huntingburg (NNDC) – Huntingburg police say the driver of a vehicle that struck a sign post along U. S. 231 had fallen asleep before the collision.

Police say Dylan Greulich of Ferdinand was southbound on 231 shortly before 8am Sunday when he fell asleep.

Huntingburg police says his vehicle crossed the center line and struck an overhead sign post.

Gruelich refused medical assistance at the scene according to police. His vehicle was considered a total loss.
