Mary LeinenbachMary Leinenbach, 75, of Jasper, died Saturday (April 8) at Brookside Village Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, November 25, 1941, to Gertrude (O’Brien) Berry. She married Thomas “Bud” Leinenbach June 15, 1963, at St. Stephens Cathedral in Owensboro.

Mary, a registered nurse, was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Evansville. She worked for Dr. Thomas Gootee and as a volunteer school nurse in Jasper. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and its Blessed Virgin Sodality. Her passions were family, Irish, and German genealogy.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas “Bud” Leinenbach; one daughter, Amy Leinenbach, Jasper; one son, Matt Leinenbach and wife Brandi, Jasper; six grandchildren; Maya Adams and husband Aaron, Luna Summers, and Walker, Christian, Sasha, and Emma Leinenbach; one great-granddaughter, Fern Summers; and one sister, Margaret Wiley, MD, Indianapolis.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Blessed Virgin Sodality will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
