Charlie Luebbehusen, 75, Ferdinand

Charles LuebbehusenCharlie Luebbehusen, 75, of Ferdinand, died Tuesday (April 4) at the University of Louisville Medical Center. He was born in Jasper July 13, 1941, to Raymond and Henrietta (Goepfrich) Luebbehusen. He married Judy Fleig July 21, 1962, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Charlie was retired from Kimball where he worked 54 years as a project engineer. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and the St. Henry Catholic Knights of America and was an Oblate of Saint Benedict. He loved spending time with his family, working outside, and attending car shows with his 1957 Chevy. He was a volunteer Veterans Driver and also volunteered at St. Ferdinand Church and the Sisters of Saint Benedict Monastery.

He is survived by his wife Judy; two sons, Bryan (Diane) Luebbehusen and wife Diane, Ferdinand, and Chris Luebbehusen and wife Angie, St. Anthony; two brothers, Bob Luebbehusen and wife Marie, St. Henry, and Phil Luebbehusen and wife Susie, Ferdinand; brother-in-law Ron Fischer, St. Henry; five grandsons, Matthew, Andrew, Alex, Brandon and Connor Luebbehusen; one granddaughter, Abby Rogier; and one great-grandson, Hudson Luebbehusen.

In addition to his parents Charlie was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Fischer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Saint Benedict Monastery.
