Rose Marie “Toots” Kunkler, 79, St. Anthony

Untitled-1Rose Marie “Toots” Kunkler, 79, of St. Anthony, died Tuesday (April 4) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in Louisville September 10, 1937, to Leo and Philomena (Stetter) Horney. She married Clarence “Ponce” Kunkler August 30, 1958, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He died January 29, 2017.

Toots retired from Masterbrand where she worked for several years. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus and the St. Anthony Christian Mothers. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, and spending time with her two cats and her dog, Buddy.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Tuggle and husband Kevin and Glenda Theising and husband Jeff, all of Jasper; and one half-brother, Gary Stasienko and wife Beth, Painesville, Ohio.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Church. St. Anthony Parish will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
