James “Shooter” Schuetter, 64, Jasper

James “Shooter” Schuetter, 64, of Jasper, died Thursday (March 23) at the Timbers of Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg March 19, 1953, to James J. and Mary M. (Angel) Schuetter.

Shooter was a truck driver for many years. He also worked in construction and for Jasper Rubber Products. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 115 in Winslow. He enjoyed music, watching and playing basketball, being outside, playing cards, playing pool, drinking spirits, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by two daughters, Alex Schuetter, Evansville, and Anna Schuetter, Jasper; one grandchild, one sister, Michelle Schuetter, and three brothers, Bob Schuetter and wife Patti, Ferdinand, and Tom Schuetter and Dave Schuetter and wife Kathy, all of Huntingburg; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step-father, James Carter, two sisters, Marla Kreilein and Phyliss Schuetter, and one brother, Larry “Butch” Schuetter.
