At Bretzville Thursday, the visiting Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third and never looked back.

Forest Park was only able to get three hits off Mater Dei pitcher Elizabeth Seng who also homered twice, both two-run shots, in back to back innings (the 5th & 6th).

Floyd Central  6  Jasper 5

At Jasper Wednesday, The Lady Wildcats (1-1) fought back after falling down by four runs in the sixth inning but the comeback fell just short though, in a 6-5 loss to Floyd Central in Wednesday evening softball at the Jasper High School Sports Complex. Jasper took the early lead with a run in the first inning. Floyd Central took the lead with 2 runs in the top of the third inning but the Wildcats tied it up with a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Highlanders took the lead back at 3 to 2 with a run in the top of the 5th and extended the lead to 6 to 2 with 3 runs in the top of the 6th. Jasper scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th to head into the 7th trailing 6 to 4. After holding the Highlanders scoreless in the top of the seventh the Wildcats managed to plate a run in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run at third with two outs, but the next batter popped up to first to end the game for a Floyd Central victory at 6-5.

Olivia Knies took the loss for Jasper giving up 6 runs on 9 hits with 7 strike outs over 7 innings. Lexie Heeke earned the complete game victory for the Highlanders giving up five runs on six hits, striking out 5 and walking one.
