Hilda Lee Kuntz, 90, Jasper

Hilda KunzHilda Lee Kuntz, 90, of Jasper, died Friday (March 24) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg September 6, 1926, to Walter and Belva (Whitsitt) Mutchman. She married Norbert Kuntz September 14, 1946. He died August 12, 2003.

Hilda worked at General Electric in Tell City, the Jasper Corporation, and in the deli at Buehler Foods. She was a charter member of the Women of Jasper Moose Lodge No. 955, Salem United Church of Christ, the Precious Blood Ladies Sodality, a lifetime member of VFW. Auxiliary No. 673, and the Dubois County Saddle Club. She was also a Tri-Cap, R.S.V.P, and Red Cross volunteer and enjoyed riding horses and playing cards.

She is survived by one son, Mike Kuntz and wife Deb, Jasper; one granddaughter, Abby Troutman and husband Bill, Jasper; two great-grandchildren, Jillian and Mallory Troutman, Jasper; one sister, Shirley Otto and husband Donnie, Huntingburg, daughter-in-law, Lois Kuntz, Jasper; three nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Richard “Dick” Kuntz, and one brother, Chester “Chet” Mutchman.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Becher Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Women of Jasper Moose No. 955, Salem United Church of Christ or to a favorite charity.
