IHSAA.tv To Televise 2A Semistate Saturday

Jasper (NNDC) – NewsNow Dubois County was informed Thursday morning that the IHSAA’s video streaming service (ihsaa.tv) has selected the Richmond Semistate for its ‘semistate’ telecasts.

This means NNDC’s plans to carry the 2A semistate game between Crawford County and Indianapolis Heritage Christian will not happen as it is IHSAA ‘policy’ to have exclusive TV rights to games it carries in the tournament.

“We are disappointed in learning this,” says NNDC executive producer Mick Birge.  “I spent an hour on the phone with the IHSAA this morning voicing our displeasure with this being it was the Crawford County fans and businesses who reached out to us to carry the games after so many watched our telecast last week of the Wolfpack’s game with Forest Park at the 2A Regional in Paoli.”

Birge continued. “I’m not so disappointed because of the work our company, namely general manager Ron Spaulding, has put in since Saturday to make our telecasts possible, but I’m more disappointed for the Crawford County fans and even morso the local businesses that were excited of not only being able to support their school’s basketball team being on TV, but also have a new media outlet close to home on which to promote their business!  It is my understanding local businesses cannot be part of the IHSAAtv telecasts!”

The good news in all this is Crawford County fans and all local sports fans can watch the 2A game online (as well as the 1A semistate game from Richmond) by CLICKING HERE.
