Wilma L. Neukam, 92, Jasper

Wilma NeukamWilma L. Neukam, 92, of Jasper, died Wednesday (March 15) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Harbison Township July 3, 1924, to Leslie and Mattie (Meyer) Freyberger. She married Willis John Neukam October 8, 1955, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville. He died December 29,1989.

Wilma retired from Jasper Laundry and Cleaners. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Crossroads in Dubois. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and seeing her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Burk and wife Linda and Duane Neukam, all of Jasper; one son-in-law, Charles Denton, Jasper; one sister, Helena Thomas, Columbus; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Denton, and one sister, Leona Giesler.

Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Church or to the wishes of the family.
