The Way Down Wanderers to Perform at the Astra in March

Jasper (NNDC) – Nationally-touring artists The Way Down Wanderers (pictured) will bring their unique harmony-laced brand of Americana, folk, and bluegrass to the Jim and Pat Thyen Performance Stage on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

The box office will open at 5:30 p.m., doors at 6 p.m., local favorites Brother, Son will perform at 7 p.m., and The Way Down Wanderers will take the stage at 8p.m.  The performance is being presented by Basket Case Brewing Company.

Tickets are $12.95 for general admission seats and $25.95 for VIP.  The VIP ticket package includes a pre-show meet and greet with The Way Down Wanderers at Brew at 5:30 p.m. (free finger foods, cash bar), reserved VIP parking at the Matrix Integration lot, reserved VIP seating closest to the stage, and a free drink voucher good for Pepsi products or beer at the Astra.  VIP tickets are nearly sold out.

The March 18 Astra performance will be the third Dubois County appearance in as many years by the band.  They performed on the Ferdinand Folk Festival’s Main Stage in 2015 and returned in March of 2016 to play in front of a sold out crowd for the Folk Festival’s annual “Halfway to the Folk Fest” event.

All net proceeds from the performance will benefit Next Act’s continued effort to raise necessary funds to begin and complete interior renovations to the facility that include, but aren’t limited to: opening the balcony, restroom expansion and installation on the second floor, installing an accessible restroom on the first floor, renovation and installation of the Bob Luegers Coat Garage, renovation and installation of the Circle A Concessions Area, as well as installation of the Kimball Electronics Sound & Light Booth.
