‘Becca’s Closet’ Makes Sure All Girls Are The “Belle Of The Ball (Prom)” (Photo Gallery)

Dubois (NNDC) – Northeast Dubois students are once again partnering with ‘Becca’s Closet’ for the upcoming prom season.

‘Becca’s Closet’ is a national program that offers new and previously-worn prom dresses to those who might not otherwise be able to attend prom due to the high cost of formal dresses.

According to the ‘Becca’s Closet’ website, she singlehandedly collected more than 250 formal dress donations.

Local group spokesperson Paige Mundy says Becca wanted to make sure all young ladies where she lived were not only able to attend their proms, but look sensational on the dance floor as well!

Becca was killed in a car accident and her family founded ‘Becca’s Closet’ in her honor.

Forming a Northeast Dubois chapter of ‘Becca’s Closet’ was the idea of current NDHS student Claire Mangin.  Mundy, who is employed with the Northeast Dubois School Corporation, is the group’s adult advisor.

Yesterday (Sunday) at Dubois Middle School more than 300 dresses became available to the public.  Mundy says many of dresses are new and were donated from local businesses; the others from young women, like Mangin, who want to make sure every girl has her big night at the prom…

Mundy says the dresses are for ANY young lady and not just those in the Northeast Dubois school district. Mundy says there’s more than just dresses in ‘Becca’s Closet’…
