Marjorie Mae Lewis, 95, Huntingburg

Marjorie LewisMarjorie Mae Lewis, 95, of Huntingburg, died Friday (February 24) at Brookside Village in Jasper. She was born in Mariah Hill May 30, 1921, to Christian and Emma (Arnold) Michel.

Marjorie was a 1939 graduate of Huntingburg High School. She retired from Huntingburg United Methodist Church where she worked as a custodian. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its Ladies Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella in Jasper. She enjoyed creating ceramics and baby quilts and loved following her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol “Jeannie” LaGrange and husband Don, Washington, Linda Seng and husband Lou, Jasper, and Marcia Butke and husband Kent, Huntingburg; one son, Denny Lewis and wife Cathy, Jasper; 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lewis, who died March 24, 1993, and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
