Jerald L. “Jerry” Mundy, 72, Jasper

Jerald Jerry MundyJerald L. “Jerry” Mundy, 72, of Jasper, died Monday (February 20) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Davenport, Iowa, January 15, 1945, to Theodore and Mathilda (Witt) Mundy. He married Yvonne Korthaus August 8, 1987, in Wilton, Iowa.

Jerry worked at Grunder Ready Mix in Wilton, Iowa, and at Jasper Engines for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He volunteered for the French Lick Railroad and was on its board of directors from 1995 to 2009 after he was awarded a lifetime membership for his years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Munday; two step-daughters, Marjorie Rust and husband Robert, Seymour, and Melissa Korthaus, Jasper; one step-son, Kenneth Korthaus and fiancé Heather Hasenour, Jasper; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Mundy.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Burial will follow at a later date. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.
