Holland Man Passes Out In Car; Now Facing Several Drug Charges

GentryHuntingburg (NNDC) – A local man is now facing several drug-related charges after county deputies found him asleep in his car early Sunday morning on the city’s southside.

The Huntingburg Police Department says 30-year old Zachary Gentry of Holland asleep when an officer made contact with him a little before 7:00AM at Casey’s General Store in South Main Street (U. S. 231).

HPD says the officer discovered a glass paraphernalia pipe between his legs.

HPD says Gentry (pictured) was sitting directly behind the car’s steering wheel snoring.  HPD says Gentry also had knives in the pockets of his jeans.

HPD says Gentry’s speech was slurred and he kept falling asleep even after police arrived on scene.

Upon further investigation, HPD says nearly 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine was found in Gentry’s possession (Level 3 felony) along with .6 grams of heroin (Level 6 felony) and approximately 3 grams of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor) as well as a second pipe (Class C misdemeanor).
