Two Teens Escape Serious Injury In Monday Rollover Accident

Schnellville (NNDC) – Two teens escaped serious injury when the car they were in crashed late Monday morning north of Schnellville.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says a car driven by 16-year old Haley Matheis of Schnellville was traveling northbound along South 820 East at about 11:20 when she lost control of the car going over a hill.

DCSD says the car drove off the right side of the roadway.  Deputies say Matheis overcorrected her steering which sent the car back across the road and into spin.

The car then went off the right side of the road again where it struck an embankment, overturned before coming to rest.

DCSD says both Matheis and a passenger, 16-year old Sierra Ward of Jasper, both complained of head and shoulder pain but DCSD says neither required to be transported to the hospital.

The car was considered a total loss.
