Huntingburg Man Facing Strangulation; Other Charges From Domestic Dispute

VolzHuntingburg (NNDC) – A Monday night domestic dispute has landed a Huntingburg man in jail on several charges.

Huntingburg police arrested 26-year old Lonnie Volz (pictured) after responding to a report of a fight and verbal argument in progress at about 7:30pm near Volz’ home in the 700 block of East Seventh Street.

Officers actually had to physically break up Volz and a female when they arrived on scene.

Police determined a physically altercation between the two happened inside the home in the presence of a child.

Police also say the female had visible marks around her neck and on her chest and determined she had been strangled and held against her will.

Police say that when the woman attempted to call for help, Volz grabbed the phone, removed its battery and then threw it on the floor.

Volz has been charged with Level 6 felony counts of Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child, and Strangulation.

He’s also facing misdemeanor charges of Criminal Confinement, Interference with the Reporting of a Crime and Intimidation.
