xRandy MortonRandy J. Morton, 62, of Jasper, died Sunday (February 5) at his home. He was born in Jasper July 12, 1954, to Charles and Margaret (Klein) Morton. He married Becky Voegerl April 30, 1983, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.

Randy worked for Mehringer Metal in Jasper. He was a member of Jasper Moose Lodge No. 1175 and Jasper Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Indiana University basketball, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Morton; one daughter, Amy Dawkins and husband Adam, Jasper; three sons, Chad Morton and wife Carrie, Middlebury, and D. J. Klem and wife Tasha and Ryan Morton and wife Holly, all of Jasper; 13 grandchildren,  Lance, Luke, and Ross Dawkins, Lucy and Joey Fetterer, Parker and Reid Morton, Norah and Jonah Klem, and Kody, Kylie, Mason, and Mackenzie Morton; one sister, Ruth Bough and husband Steve, Jasper; and five brothers, Jack, Darryl, Douglas, and Bob and wife Beverly, all of Jasper, and Paul Morton and wife Marilyn, Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper. Jasper Moose Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist church or to a favorite charity.
