Douglas “Dumpy” Harmon, 60, Birdseye

Doug HarmonDouglas “Dumpy” Harmon, 60, of Birdseye, died Friday (February 3). He was born in Terre Haute April 2, 1956, to Hubert Vern and Norma (Linthicum) Harmon.

Dumpy worked as a coal mine end-dump driver at Solar Sources. He liked Ford vehicles and working on antique hit and miss engines.

He is survived by two sons, Derrick Harmon and daughter Kendra, Augusta, and Clayton Harmon and wife Karrissa, Birdseye; one daughter, Kelsey Baker and husband Joshuah, Indianapolis; his mother, Norma Harmon, Birdseye; two brothers, Terry Harmon and wife Susan, Birdseye, and Scot Harmond and wife Pam, Eckerty; one grandson, Rhett Harmon, Birdseye; one niece; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
