Carmon “Pete” Haase, 79, Jasper

Pete HaaseCarmon “Pete” Haase, 79, of Jasper, died Thursday (February 2) at his daughter’s home in Troy, Ohio.

He was born in Jasper November 5, 1937, to Albert and Alvina (Blattel) Haase. He married Julia “Judy” Gramelspacher September 5, 1964, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. She died August 25, 2016.

Pete was a 1955 graduate of Jasper High School. He played quarterback for the Wildcats’ football team. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and VFW Post No. 673 in Jasper. He was store manager for Buehler Foods for many years and loved fishing, hunting, animals, and playing cards.

He is survived by one son, John Haase and wife Jeanette, Colorado Springs, Coloradlo; two daughters, Vicki Sullivan and husband Tony, Troy, Ohio, and Kristi Schnarr and husband Rick, Louisville; one brother, Eugene Haase, Jasper; and four grandchildren, Bryce and Brittney Sullivan and Courtney and McKenzie Schnarr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dubois County Humane Society. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
