Nottingham Goes Over 1000-Point Mark As Cats Beat 2A #1 Barr-Reeve; Girls Swim Sectional Underway

Jasper (NNDC) – T. D. Nottingham scores 26 points while surpassing the 1,000-point mark in his career as Jasper upsets the 2A top-ranked team, 59-49. Nottingham now has 1,016 career points for JHS;

Wildcats, winners of five of their last six games, improved to 11-5 with the non-conference victory.

Jasper travels to Heritage Hills (11-7) tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.

Forest Park 56  Evansville Mater Dei  35

At Ferdinand, the Rangers led start to finish against the visiting Wildcats to improve to 10-7 with the 56-35 non-conference win.

Forest Park outscored Mater Dei 16-4 in the second quarter to take a 29-12 lead at halftime; a deficit too large over the Wildcats to overcome.

Trever Zink and Sam Englert both scored 17 points to lead Forest Park.   Noah Fleck added 15 in the win.

The Rangers host 2A #1 Barr-Reeve tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.


Girls Swimming

At Jasper, the preliminary round of the 2017 Sectional was held Thursday night at the JHS Natatorium.  The finals will be held Saturday.
