Huntingburg Woman Faces Several Charges After Making Threats To Many; Including Police

Huntingburg (NNDC) – A Huntingburg woman is now facing several charges after police say she became uncooperative and combative at a local apartment complex Thursday night.

Arrested was 36-year old Nikki Camplin.

The Huntingburg Police Department says officers were called to Friendship Village apartments at about 9:20PM where a woman was reportedly making threats to others.

When HPD officers arrived, they made contact with Camplin.  HPD says she appeared to be intoxicated as she was stumbling and slurring her speech.

A field sobriety test showed her blood alcohol level was .28% and she was detained.

Police say Camplin did consent to a search and officers say they found broken glass and a smoking device in her coat pocket.

Police say Camplin also became irate and leg restraints were put on her.

While enroute to Memorial Hospital in Jasper to be medically cleared for incarceration, HPD says Camplin made threats that she was going to kill the HPD officer.  HPD says she later became combative towards staff at Memorial as well as police.

She is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Law Enforcement causing injury, Possession of Paraphernalia, Battery on Law Enforcement causing Injury, Attempted Battery on Emergency Medical Personnel, and Intimidation to Law Enforcement.
