DCSD Investigating Morning Accident That Injured One

Jasper (NNDC) – The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says one person was injured when his car was struck by large pieces of sheet metal that deputies say had fallen off a truck just moments earlier.

DCSD says shortly before 10am Wednesday, 60-year old Charles Nunn of Jasper was driving southbound on U. S. 231 just south of WITZ Road when his car was struck by the sheet metal which Nunn told DCSD had fallen off a northbound truck (a white box truck or possibly a tractor/trailer).

DCSD says one of the pieces of sheet metal penetrated the windshield of Nunn’s car striking him.  DCSD says Nunn’s car then exited the highway to the west, striking an advertising billboard support beam before the car came to rest.

Nunn was transported to Jasper’s Memorial Hosptial.  His condition is not known though DCSD says his car was a total loss.

DCSD is asking if anyone has information about the incident to please contact Deputy Wade Pierce at 812-482-3522 (Ext.2).
