Boil Order In Effect For Small Group Of Households West Of Huntingburg

Huntingburg (Local Sources) – A water main break discovered Monday along Indiana 64 west of Huntingburg has prompted a ‘boil order’ for residents in the immediate area.

Residents affected live along the highway between South 400 West and South 500 West.

Laura Whittsitt with the Duff Water Corporation, says only a handful of the utility’s 320 customers are affected by the boil order.

The main was repaired Monday night.

Affected residents are advised to bring all cooking and drinking water to a complete boil for at least five minutes before using it.

The boil will remain in affect until at least late Tuesday afternoon after two water samples pass inspection.  Those sample tests are being conducted by the Jasper Water Utilities.
