Clara M. Margarida, 92, Jasper

Clara MargaridaClara M. Margarida, 92, of Jasper, died Sunday (January 29) at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born in St. Anthony September 21, 1924, to August and Clara (Miller) Troxler. She married William Margarida November 12, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey. He died February 19, 1983.

Clara retired as an administrative assistant for the auditor’s office in the Dubois County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and she enjoyed sewing, playing cards, crafts, hummingbirds, and plants and flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jean Griffin and Gina Frick and husband Roy, all of Huntingburg; one son, Arthur Margarida and wife Ruth, Jasper; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irma Bromm, St. Anthony.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five sisters, Cornelia Hauser, Augusta Sternberg, Beatrice Elmore, Ruth Klueh, and Marian Schmidt, and one brother, Anthony Troxler.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
