Anthony F. “Tony” Ebert, 94, of Ferdinand, died Wednesday (January 25) at Brookside Village in Jasper. He was born in Spencer County September 24, 1922, to Joseph and Mary (Rahman) Ebert. He married Hilda Denning April 15, 1947 at St. Meinrad. She died February 19, 2013.

Tony enjoyed spending time with family and friends, following politics, and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR.

He is survived by two sons, Glenn Ebert, Indianapolis, and Harley Ebert, Edgewater, New Jersey; three daughters, Judy Mehling, Ferdinand, Linda Ray and husband Jon, Avon, and Carol Conti and husband Barry, Silver Springs, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by four brothers, brothers, Robert, Othmar, Edwin, and Raymond Ebert (in infancy), one son, Stanley Ebert, and one grandson, Nick Ebert.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
