NNDC-TV Announces Girls Basketball Sectional Games To Be Televised ‘Live’

Jasper (NNDC) – NewsNow Dubois County’s cable television channel, NNDC-TV 183*, says it will televise ‘live’ as many IHSAA Girls Basketball Sectional games involving local teams as it can beginning with the sectional opener, Tuesday night, January 31st.  In the opener,  Jasper takes on Vincennes Lincoln in the 3A Sectional at Lincoln.  That ballgame will tipoff at 7:30pm.

“We are excited about our plans for the upcoming sectionals,” says Ron Spaulding, Vice President & General Manager of NNDC-TV.  “We hope to add to what we call the the ‘production quality’ of our telecasts for the sectional.  You’ll need to ‘stay-tuned’ for that,” he added.

NNDC-TV will televise a second game from Lincoln Friday night, February 3rd, when Southridge will open tournament play against the Jasper / Lincoln winner.  That game will also tipoff at 7:30pm.

Jasper lost the regular season matchup with Lincoln on December 8th, 57-51, in game played at JHS.   Jasper also won the regular season game with Southridge 47-21 back on November 12th; also played at JHS.

The 3A sectional is the only one with two local schools (Jasper and Southridge) in it.

NNDC-TV also plans to televise ‘live’ Friday night’s 1A Sectional semifinal between Northeast Dubois and defending sectional champion Springs Valley from Tecumseh High School at Lynnville.  The tipoff and broadcast will begin at 6:30pm (5:30pm CST).

This is a rematch of a game played between these two teams back on December 1st at Dubois won by the Lady Jeeps, 49-45.

Spaulding says, “If all goes according to plan, that Friday night (February 3rd) will be the first time we (NNDC-TV) will televise two ballgames ‘LIVE’ from two different locations!  Again, we’re very excited about our sectional tournament coverage.”

As of right now, NNDC-TV will not be televising any games of the 2A Sectional hosted by Forest Park.

The Lady Rangers play 4th-ranked Evansville Mater Dei in the tournament opener Tuesday night,  January 31st,  at 8:00pm.

Mater Dei won the regular season matchup between the two schools back on November 22nd at Evansville, 43-40.

The Lady Rangers currently have the best overall won-loss record at 12-9 of any of the four local schools.

NNDC-TV will continue to follow local teams that advance through the tournament including the sectional championship games Saturday nigh, February 4th.

Spaulding says, “If we have two championship games played at the same time that night, our plan is to televise one live; the second will be tape-delayed.  Either way, it should be an exciting week for local sports fans!”
