JPD Seeking Help In Thursday Accident Investigation

Jasper (NNDC) – The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help with the department’s investigation of a two-vehicle that happed Thursday afternoon at the intersection of 15th and Jackson streets.

JPD says both drivers are claiming they had the right-of-way at the time of the 2:15PM accident.  Police are asking any witnesses P

Police say 30-year old Amber Mahan of Jasper was westbound on 15th Street.  Police say Mahan told them she stopped her car at the stop sign with the Jackson Street intersection.

Meanwhile, 42-year old Shelley Woolsey, also of Jasper, was in the eastbound lane on 15th Street.  She told officers she too was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection.

Police say Mahan and Woolsey both proceeded into the intersection at the same time. The two vehicles collided after Mahan turned south on Jackson and Woolsey continued eastbound on 15th.
