nancy-penceNancy E. Pence, 73, of Jasper, died Saturday (December 31) at the Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Ft. Wayne September 18, 1943, to John and Norene (Lasher) Studinski. She married Stephen Pence July 3, 1972, in Warsaw.

Nancy was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. She enjoyed playing cards, flower gardening, and spending time with her cat and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Pence; one daughter, Polly Sumansky and husband Brad, Terre Haute; one son, John Householder and wife Cathy, Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Ryan, Grant, and Zachary Householder, and Joseph and Anna Sumansky; one great-grandchild, Casen Householder; one sister, Mary McDowell, Marysville, Washington; and two brothers, Tom Studinski and wife Suzanne, and Jim Studinski and wife Joleen, all of Ft. Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Online condolences may be made at A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with burial following at a later date.
