UPDATED: Accident Near Dubois Claims Life Of Driver (VIDEO)

Dubois (NNDC) – An overnight accident just south of Dubois Community Park has claimed a life.

Indiana State Police say 50-year old Fred Block of Jasper was killed when his car crashed along the Jasper-Dubois Road late Thursday.

ISP says Block lost control of his car while going into a curve shortly before Midnight.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

ISP says its investigation into the accident is continuing.


One person is dead following an overnight single-vehicle accident.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and state police investigators have not released details of the accident, but we do know Dubois first responders were called to the accident scene along the Jasper- Dubois Road just before Midnight (Thursday).

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Our media partner, NewsNow Dubois County, says it appears the car was travelling southbound about a mile south of Dubois, when the vehicle went off the roadway approaching a curve.

The car ended up facing the opposite direction. The driver partially ejected from the vehicle.
