Frances “Fanny” Frick, 90, Huntingburg

fffFrances “Fanny” Frick, 90, of Huntingburg, died Saturday (December 17) at her home. She was born in Jasper March 10, 1926, to Carl and Louise (Miller) Fleck. She married Harold “Buddy” Frick January 28, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He died October 16, 2011.

Fanny was a homemaker. She also worked as a cafeteria employee at Maple Park Elementary School and Southridge High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and its Ladies Sodality; was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was a catechism teacher at St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed playing cards, travel, flowers, attending family sporting events, and time spent with her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Toni Frick, Cindy Harris, and Gail Werne and husband Terry, all of Huntingburg, and Tina Knies and husband Brad, Celestine; one son, Greg Frick and wife Charlotte, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; son-in-law Dan Buechler, Jasper; two sisters, Rosalee Studer Kleiser, French Lick, and Mary Lou Campbell, Englewood, Floriday; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Buechler and Kathy Frick, one son, Buddy Frick, Jr., one son-in-law, Steven Harris, one sister, Anna Mae Lasher, one brother, Clarence Fleck, and one granddaughter, Jami Knies.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A rosary prayer service, conducted by Deacon Tom Holsworth, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Special Olympics, St. Mary’s Church, Kindred Hospice, or to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be shared online at: Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Ryan Hilderbrand.
