sarah-chambersSarah J. Chambers, 77, of Jasper, died Thursday (December 8) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born in Loogootee June 21, 1939, to Reason and Rosemary (Wagoner) Wagner.

Sarah managed several food service businesses in the Loogootee and Shoals area. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Loogootee, enjoyed playing bingo, cards, sewing, painting, and doing word puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Chambers, Ireland, and Diana “Lynn” Chambers, Huntingburg; one son, Richard Chambers and wife Karen, English; four grandchildren, Joe, Kyle, and Kaleb Chambers and Kari Boeglin; four great-grandchildren, Brentley, Hunter, and Greyson Chambers, and LT Boeglin; one sister, Judy Fuesler and husband Donnie, Greenwood; and two brothers, Ed Wagner and wife Susan, Vincennes, and Tom Wagner and wife Linda, Loogootee.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Hickman, and one brother; Michael Wagner.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. A rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at Funeral services at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funereal home with burial to follow at a later date. Father Cris Adongo will officiate.
